Gochujang or Korean red chilli paste is a savoury, sweet, and spicy fermented condiment made from chilli powder, glutinous rice, meju (fermented soybean) powder, yeotgireum (barley malt powder), and salt.
Traditionally, it has been naturally fermented over years in jangdok (earthenware) on an elevated stone platform, called jangdokdae, in the backyard. Hanguk Kitchen supplies our Gochujang sauce to many restaurants in Singapore, and customers pair it with most Korean dishes like spreading a thick layer over their samgyupsal, adding it as a soup base for a delicious broth for an army stew, or simply using it as a delicious dipping Sauce for any Korean Dishes!
